Great. Another show like that. *sigh* Well, right at the moment I'm watching Dog the Bounty Hunter. I've heard the he's a racist and a whole bunch of stuff, but right now, nothing else is on. _________________ Your optimism is enough to choke God. |

| For shows that are just fun to watch, I like Mythbusters and Ace of Cakes. |

Ace of Cakes is kick ass. I love it! Mythbusters? Not so much. I like watching Good Eats, and Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives too. _________________ Your optimism is enough to choke God. |

Oh and The Big Bang Theory.
Aww, how can you not like Mythbusters? Did you see the really early seasons or more recently? I like the more recent seasons more because they got more into a groove. |

People keep on telling me to watch Big Bang Theory, but i've never gotten around to it. Shame on me.
More recent ones. I just never got into the show. _________________ Your optimism is enough to choke God. |

The Big Bang Theory is hilarious. I love it. I would agree with anyone else who has recommended it. Also, for the most part you don't need to watch from the beginning although it's probably best just so you know who everyone is. But most of the stuff is self-explanatory enough that you could jump in on any episode and get a good feel for the characters right away.
Also, ohh ok about Mythbusters. Yeah, I think it's the sort of format + personalities a person would either really enjoy or just not be interested in. Since every episode is pretty much set up the same way, I would think it wouldn't grow any more appealing to a person who didn't care for it in the first place. |

Ok, I have another tv show. This is one I've really come to enjoy-- The Mentalist.
Basic premise:
Patrick Jane is a man who is acutely aware of the details of his surroundings. He can read a lot about people based on the way they hold themselves, clues on them and their belongings/houses, etc. I think of him as the way I imagined Sherlock Holmes would be, honestly, except less arrogant and more apt to smile or joke around.
He used to pass himself off as a psychic, using his powers of perception to convince people he was connecting with the other side. Then a tragedy hit (which you learn about in the first episode but it's better if you don't know ahead of time like I did) which for various reasons led to him giving up the psychic thing.
He works as a consultant for the California Bureau of Investigation, who handle state investigations. Sort of like state-wide cops, but like federal agencies (as you always see on Criminal Minds, NCIS, etc, where they show feds swooping in) they take over from the local authorities. They don't help if they come by; they call the shots.
The show is about him working with CBI and the four people he works with there. It ranges between serious topics and funny moments, and it didn't take me long to totally love the characters.
Things I love about it:
The characters are great. I love that (for once) the civilian liaison to a law enforcement entity isn't doing things a civilian wouldn't do. Patrick usually hangs out by the car when everyone goes in with bullet proof vests and guns to do a pick up or take down. He only gets involved in the interview/interrogation portion when he has something specific to contribute. And yet I also love that he doesn't fully stay in that role; he's always running three steps ahead of everyone else and saying, "Ok you can go now" to persons of interest while the person in charge (Lisbon) is going "Wait-- what? He can??"
I love Agent Cho's seriousface deadpanning too. He often is the main interviewer and he's sooo perfect. They also use interview techniques that are, as far as I understand, somewhat accurate to the real world. Trying to empathize with people to get them to say more, getting in close and touching people sometimes, etc.
Probably more than anything else, I love how the show is interesting but it has these funny moments that come out of nowhere, which are often so funny primarily because of the characters.
Just now, I burst out laughing while watching season 1 episode 14 -- Crimson Casanova. In it, this hot shot guy is trying to throw his weight around during an investigation of the death of his wife. He knows the Attorney General and is trying to use that to his advantage.
Cho asks whether the guy's aware that his wife had a lover; the guy says he found out after law enforcement told him. He asks if there's a name and if the guy's a suspect. Cho says they have a name and the guy isn't a suspect.
Keep in mind that during the whole conversation, Cho is completely deadpan.
Guy: Who is he?
Cho: I'm not at liberty to say.
Guy: I want his name.
Cho: You can't have it.
Guy: Are you sure, Agent Cho? Because I could make one phone call and your career is toast.
Cho: That's impressive. The best I can get with one call is a pizza.
And later in the episode, he's talking to a lady and she's drunken sad rambling about how she loves a douchebag but can't help it. And then she says, "That's crazy, isn't it? But that's love. Love is crazy." And Cho is silent before he says, "No it isn't. You should seek psychiatric help."
XDD I heart Cho so much... I think this episode made him my favorite character. He's vying for a tie with Patrick. |

Got to treat the children equally? And I'm also wanting to see the show V. I can't remember when it supposed to start, but it looks pretty cool. Even though I don't like aliens. The whole UFO-Aliens thing makes me shudder. _________________ Your optimism is enough to choke God. |
